About Dr. Montes
Alejandro Z. Montes, MD completed his undergraduate degree at Stanford University and received his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at the Valley Medical Center, a University of California, San Francisco teaching hospital.
As a pediatrician at Montes Medical Group in the greater Los Angeles area, Dr. Montes realizes that educating parents is just as important as treating children. By explaining the process of illness and the various treatment options, Dr. Montes is able to ease anxiety and raise the level of understanding so that both patient and parent are properly served.
With the increased incidence of Type I Diabetes in children, Dr. Montes has taken an active interest in its early detection and treatment. He feels that awareness, understanding, and education are essential to minimizing the long-term effects of this disease.
Dr. Montes maintains privileges at two Whittier area hospitals: Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital and Whittier Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Montes founded Montes Medical Group, Inc. in 1986 with his brother, Dr. Juan Montes, and he currently offers service at the Norwalk, Whittier, Inglewood, and East Los Angeles clinics.
