Recommendations for a Healthy Summer
Fresh air, sunshine and warm weather...everyone enjoys the benefits of summer!
Despite the many advantages, there are other unwelcome symptoms of sunny days - from pesky bugs and harmful ultraviolet rays to an increase in pollen and pool party dangers.
While winter is still cast as the season of ill health, the fact that summer can also be a hotspot for health problems is often ignored.
We routinely take precautions against the effects of the cold by taking vitamins or scheduling an uncomfortable flu shot, but our summer preparations largely surround cool clothing and the occasional use of sunblock.
Karen Simister, the Healthcare manager for Tesco in the UK, says: “People are much more casual about summer health, often underestimating the effects of the sun and forgetting about other hazards, such as insect bites and travel sickness.
“With a little forethought and taking the right precautions, you can ensure nothing spoils your time in the sunshine wherever you are.”
So take time to read our Summer Health Tips to ensure that your family is fit and ready for the sunny days ahead.
