About Celina Kotanjian, FNP-C

Our AANP board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Celina Kotanjian comes to us from PIH Health, where she provided high-level care to patients. She first worked in the Medical/Surgical Hematology/Oncology Unit and later as part of the Emergency Department where she partnered closely with Emergency Medical Services to save lives.

Celina completed her education at Cal State Fullerton’s Bachelor of Science program and subsequently achieved a Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Southern California’s Family Nurse Practitioner program.  She is also a Los Angeles County Mobile Intensive Care Nurse authorized to provide pre-hospital Advanced Life Support or issue instruction to pre-hospital emergency personnel such as paramedics and emergency technicians.

Celina brings a wide range of experiences and skills to Montes Medical Group. Topics of special interest to her include such vital health subjects as Nursing Care for the Hispanic Patient, Influenza Care for the Community, and Pre-School Age Safety.

Celina’s favorite part of working as a Nurse Practitioner for Montes Medical is the opportunity to develop a collaborative health plan customized for each patient. She is a firm believer in long-term care, which involves developing programs to help people stay healthy across their lifespan and following them very closely to make sure those programs are achieving the desired results.

She is passionate about engaging patients in the ongoing process of improving their own health and well-being. Her goal is to keep patients out of the emergency room by encouraging a healthy lifestyle with programs for weight reduction, exercise, diabetes control, and overall health.

Celina definitely practices what she preaches when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. An avid runner, she recently completed her first 8K marathon and is looking forward to her next long-distance run. She also participates in Olympic weightlifting.

Celina is local to the Los Angeles area, having grown up in Hacienda Heights and working primarily in the city of Whittier. She looks forward to assisting with your health care needs in order to help you achieve and maintain good health for a long time to come.
